Who Should Attend

Who Should Attend this Camp?

This camp is designed to give Tallahassee youth an outlet to get a crash course on the sport of wrestling in a summer camp environment. It's for wrestlers from grades K-12.

Wrestlers without experience will be placed in our beginner group and get a ton of 1:1 attention on the basics of wrestling.

Those with a strong knowledge of the basics will be in our intermediate/advanced group, and learn about the finer details in wrestling.

Beginner Curriculum

Beginner Group Itinerary

We take extra care in developing the foundational skills of our beginner group, designed for athletes with one to two seasons of experience. We understand that a strong grasp of the basics is crucial for long-term success in wrestling. Our coaches focus on refining stance, positioning, takedowns, escapes, and fundamental mat awareness, ensuring that each wrestler builds confidence in their technique. Through structured drills, hands-on coaching, and individualized feedback, campers will leave with a deeper understanding of the sport’s core principles.

By the end of camp, our beginners will not only improve their technical skills but also develop a strong work ethic and love for the sport. We emphasize repetition, muscle memory, and match-like situations to help reinforce key techniques. Whether they’re stepping onto the mat for their first matches or looking to sharpen their fundamentals, this group will gain the knowledge and experience needed to take the next step in their wrestling journey.

Intermediate/Advanced Group Itinerary

For our advanced group, we focus on refining high-level techniques, match strategy, and mental toughness to prepare wrestlers for elite competition. This group will generally consist of wrestlers ages 11-18 who have significant practice and competition experience. However, younger athletes who demonstrate the technical ability and maturity to meet the demands of this group may also be included.

Our curriculum is designed for those with a strong foundation in wrestling, assuming a solid grasp of the basics. We emphasize situational wrestling, chain wrestling, and advanced transitions to help athletes develop a well-rounded and adaptable style. Through high-intensity live sessions, individualized feedback, and some film study, wrestlers will fine-tune their strengths and address any weaknesses. We also prioritize match awareness, conditioning, and mental preparation, ensuring that every athlete leaves camp equipped to take their training to the next level and compete at the highest levels.

Films

Other Camp Activities

Training is intense, but we make sure our athletes have plenty of time to recharge and enjoy themselves between sessions. We believe that incorporating fun activities throughout the day not only helps wrestlers stay engaged but also fosters team bonding and builds a positive camp culture. Whether it’s a competitive game of dodgeball, a relaxed round of whiffle ball, or a fast-paced soccer match, there’s always something exciting happening when we’re off the mat.

In addition, we mix in ultimate frisbee and football, giving campers a chance to move, compete, and enjoy a different kind of athletic challenge. These activities help with agility, coordination, and teamwork—skills that translate directly to success in wrestling. More importantly, they give our wrestlers a chance to unwind, connect with their peers, and create lasting memories outside of training.

During lunch each day, we take time to watch wrestling documentaries, exposing campers to the history, technique, and mindset of some of the greatest wrestlers in the world. These films offer inspiration, teaching valuable lessons about work ethic, resilience, and what it takes to compete at the highest levels. By the time camp ends, our wrestlers not only leave with improved skills but also with a renewed love for the sport and a strong sense of camaraderie with their fellow athletes.
